You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time. This page explains your options, what happens to your subscription, and what data is removed.

How to Delete Your Account

From the Mobile App

  1. 1Open the app and go to Profile
  2. 2Tap Settings
  3. 3Scroll down to Delete Account
  4. 4Confirm by tapping Delete My Account

From the Web Dashboard

  1. 1Sign in at app.budgetpilot.ai
  2. 2Go to Settings
  3. 3Scroll to Account โ€” Danger Zone
  4. 4Type DELETE to confirm
  5. 5Click Permanently Delete My Account

What Happens to Your Subscription

Please read before proceeding

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel all subscriptions. Depending on how you subscribed, you may need to take manual action to avoid future charges.

Stripe (web billing)

If you subscribed through the BudgetPilot website, your Stripe subscription is cancelled automatically the moment you delete your account. You will not be charged again. Remaining access ends immediately upon deletion.

No further action is needed.

If you subscribed through the Google Play Store, your subscription is managed entirely by Google. Deleting your BudgetPilot account will not cancel it โ€” Google will continue charging you until you cancel manually.

Steps to cancel:

  1. 1On your Android device, open the Google Play Store
  2. 2Tap your profile icon โ†’ Payments & subscriptions โ†’ Subscriptions
  3. 3Find BudgetPilot and tap Cancel subscription

  2. 2Tap your name โ†’ Subscriptions
  3. 3Find BudgetPilot and tap Cancel Subscription

What Data Is Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently and irreversibly removed. This action cannot be undone.

  • โœ•User profile โ€” name, email address, and account preferences
  • โœ•Financial data โ€” all transactions, expenses, and bank connections
  • โœ•Budgets โ€” all budget periods, categories, and allocations
  • โœ•Goals โ€” savings goals and progress tracking
  • โœ•Subscription metadata โ€” billing plan details and history
  • โœ•Shared workspaces โ€” your participation in shared budgets
  • โœ•AI insights and reports โ€” generated insights, statements, and chat history

Data That May Be Retained

In limited circumstances, we may retain certain data beyond deletion for legal or security reasons:

  • โ€“Legal compliance: Financial transaction records legally required to be kept (e.g. for tax or anti-fraud purposes), in anonymised or aggregated form only.
  • โ€“Security logs: Access or audit logs retained for a limited period (typically up to 90 days) to protect against fraud or abuse.
  • โ€“Anonymised analytics: Aggregate, non-identifiable usage statistics that cannot be linked back to your account.

In all cases, retained data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
