Terms of Service

Welcome to BudgetPilot AI. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, please do not use BudgetPilot AI.

1. Who we are

BudgetPilot AI is offered from Bucharest, Romania. For questions about these Terms, contact support@budgetpilot.ai. For account or billing help, you may also use support@budgetpilot.ai.

2. Acceptance of terms

By using the Service, you confirm that:

  • You have read and understood these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
  • You are legally able to enter a binding agreement in your country of residence.
  • If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you have authority to bind that organization.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms and change the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes become effective means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Service.

3. Service description

BudgetPilot AI provides financial education and budgeting tools—including insights, planning features, and informational content—to help you organize and understand your finances.

Important: The Service is not personalized investment, tax, or legal advice. It does not replace a qualified professional. You are responsible for your own financial decisions.

4. Eligibility and accounts

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@budgetpilot.ai if you suspect unauthorized access.

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms or pose a risk to the Service or other users.

5. Subscriptions, billing, and trials

Free trial

New users may be offered a 14-day free trial of the application (or another period we specify at signup). This trial is granted in the product so you can use paid features before subscribing. We do not require a credit card to start, and we do not charge you during the trial period through BudgetPilot for that access. When the trial ends, you may choose a paid plan to continue; payment details are collected only when you start a paid subscription through our checkout.

Paid plans

Paid access is offered on a subscription basis (monthly or yearly, as shown at checkout). Prices, taxes, and currency are displayed before you pay.

Renewal

Unless you cancel before the end of the current billing period, subscriptions renew automatically for the same term at the then-current price, charged to your payment method on file.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription through the account or billing settings we provide, or by following the instructions in your confirmation emails. Cancellation stops future charges; it does not automatically refund past payments unless required by law or stated otherwise at purchase.

Failed payments and expired subscriptions

If payment fails or your subscription ends, we may limit or suspend access to paid features until payment succeeds or you renew. We may retain your data according to our Privacy Policy so you can restore access if you resubscribe.

Refunds

Refund rules depend on applicable law and what we communicate at purchase. Unless we state otherwise, fees are generally non-refundable. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, contact support@budgetpilot.ai.

Payment processing

Payments are processed by Stripe (or another processor we name). Their terms and privacy policy also apply to payment transactions.

6. User responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in line with these Terms.
  • Not misuse, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems.
  • Not reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service except as allowed by law.
  • Not upload malware, unlawful content, or material that infringes others’ rights.

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter. Educational outputs depend on that information and are not guaranteed to be complete or error-free.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including software, text, graphics, logos, and branding, is owned by BudgetPilot AI or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your personal or internal business use, according to these Terms.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our materials without our prior written consent, except as allowed by law.

8. Disclaimers — not financial advice

The Service provides educational information and tools only. Nothing in the Service is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

We do not recommend specific securities, products, or strategies for your situation. Past performance or examples do not guarantee future results. Always consult a qualified professional before making important financial decisions.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Romanian law and applicable regulations:

  • BudgetPilot AI and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or (b) fifty euros (EUR 50) if you have not paid fees.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law.

10. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless BudgetPilot AI from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you may also benefit from mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence. Courts in Romania have jurisdiction, subject to any non-waivable rights you have to sue in your home country.

We encourage you to contact support@budgetpilot.ai first so we can try to resolve concerns informally.

12. Changes to the Service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features or the Service with reasonable notice where practicable. We are not liable for any change or discontinuation, except as required by law.
